On The Sand II:  Sand Harder

Apparently, the softer sand was right about… there.

Alright… who had, “they’re gonna get stuck in sand,” in the pool?  Winner, winner, chicken dinner!   Of course we got stuck in the sand.  C’mon, 2WD, street tires, heavy diesel truck.  It was a foregone conclusion.  All in all though, still not bad.  We met John and Bob.  John and Bob, who came over to tow us out, got stuck themselves, and had to pull themselves out with their little beach toy.   (We were too heavy for that)   John, (or Bob… honestly, I forget) who lived literally a couple blocks away, left to get his bigger 4WD truck and was back in 10 minutes.  2 minutes of hook up, one quick pull and we were back in the firmer sand.  Easy peasy.  They had to work harder to get their truck out than mine.  John and Bob are good dudes.

The rescuers get stuck too. They have their own extraction toy.

And this will teach me to stray too far for a likely looking photo op.  Topping it all off was that I didn’t even get an image out of it due to the whole stuck-in-the-sand thing distracting me.

As we go about our days having various adventures here and there, we’re going to have stuff happen.  The only way it’s going to work out is by being prepared for those things we can prepare for, staying calm and taking things in stride.  Like, Zen and the Art of RV Lifestyle.

“Yup. She’s stuck.” “Oh do you think so, Doctor?”
