
Officially the farthest north I’ve ever been in California. Many, many times I’ve been to Sacramento or San Francisco and various parts of the bay area and I’ve been to Oregon, Idaho and Washington, (and lived in the later two) but I’ve never traveled straight up through California to get there.
The image above shows a sunny time, (as we were ready to leave) but the vast bulk of the 2 days we spent here was like this:

As gloomy and overcast, or flat out pouring, as you’d care for. There was a really nice lighthouse that didn’t really look like this:

But a little Photoshop at least gets it in the neighborhood of okay looking.
The one bright spot here was smoking internet. We were finally able to catch up on some net stuff, and also to get the basic work done on the backbone and beginning framework for this site.
A pretty looking little city near the border and fun to sightsee through the various neighborhoods. Some really interesting houses and parks right on the coast. Might be nice to spend a little more time here sometime in the future. In the summer… with a shot at better weather. :)
Next stop into Oregon at Coos Bay.
